Looking after your loved one with care, compassion and understanding

Why Special Needs Care Limited?

Special Needs Care is a bespoke provision of care for adults who have a learning disability. We provide services that ensure choice and control for its Users, is Person Centred in its application and is flexible and innovative enough to meet changing needs.

Special Needs Care is a social enterprise and was initially set up to provide care for family members and therefore can relate specifically to the difficulties experienced by Service Users and their families, and ultimately the Commissioners. Furthermore, our innovative services are meeting the challenges of the 'Putting People First' and the 'Valuing People Now' concordat.

We have our own legal department headed by a qualified Solicitor and an experienced Management Team headed by a qualified Social Worker and a Registered Manager and therefore we are able to provide a wide range of services such as:

  • 24 hours Supported Living Services
  • Direct Payment Services
  • Activity Short Breaks
  • Support with accessing community facilities during the day, evening and night
  • Outdoor and Recreational Activities
  • Independent Advocacy to include dealing with the Office of the Public Guardian and the Mental Capacity Act 2005

Within this we can provide support to Service Users to include housing matters, landlord and tenant services, support with all aspects of Direct Payments to include payroll, as well as advice on benefits, advocacy, paid or unpaid employment.

We have recruited staff specifically to include those with qualifications in Music, PE, Swimming, Sport Massage and therefore can also support and advise Service Users in this regard.

All our services can be accessed via funding sources such as Independent Living Fund, Supporting People Grant, Direct Payments, Individual Budgets, Carers Vouchers, Housing Benefit, In Control, Private or Social Services funded budgets.

"There is now an urgent need to begin the development of a new adult care system. In the future, we want people to have maximum choice, control and power over the support services they receive"
